About

A life spent studying connection

Blaire Ward is a clinical psychology doctoral trainee (PsyD) at Alliant International University, with an expected graduation date of 2028. She also earned a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in health psychology from Alliant. She holds a Master of Science in Health Psychology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and a bachelor's degree in communication from San Diego State University, and earned a verified certificate in Introduction to Cognitive Psychology and Neuropsychology from University of Cambridge Professional and Continuing Education. At San Diego State, Blaire became the university's first female student body president in 15 years and served as president and CEO of its student organization, advocating for students' health, well-being, and broader interests.

Blaire provides individual psychotherapy and psychological assessment under clinical supervision. Her clinical interests include couples and relationship concerns, particularly the ways physical and mental health can affect intimacy, communication, identity, and connection within relationships. She is especially interested in helping individuals and couples navigate chronic illness, health-related stress, life transitions, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive concerns, depression, trauma, grief, and relational distress. Her assessment experience includes clinical interviewing, diagnostic clarification, risk assessment, and the administration and interpretation of standardized cognitive, academic, behavioral, and psychological measures.

Her therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. She draws from evidence-based and integrative approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-informed care. Her background in health psychology, nutrition coaching, yoga, and wellness allows her to consider the relationship among emotional well-being, physical health, behavior, and the broader context of a client's life.

Before entering clinical psychology, Blaire worked in the entertainment industry and built a coaching practice focused on love, dating, wellness, and modern relationships, serving clients in Los Angeles and London. Her prior coaching work is separate from her clinical training, but it helped shape her longstanding interest in how people form, maintain, and repair intimate relationships. Her writing on these subjects began as a private diary, developed into a widely read blog, and ultimately became the book 10 Dudes.

Blaire approaches each client with curiosity, compassion, and respect for their background and lived experience. She aims to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand themselves, develop practical tools, and build healthier, more meaningful relationships.

Blaire's clinical work takes place within her doctoral training placement, under the supervision of licensed professionals. This website does not provide clinical services and is not a way to request them.
